We are all multitudinous entities. Nancy was my mother, a woman. As such in our Patriarchal system she was unimportant. She learned those female-hating messages well. She was a politically-active person. She was a great artist. But she was unable to accept that she could be as much an artist as any male artist. She was an inspiring, sometimes frustrating conundrum.

Cremation

Judy Henske, a Distinctive Voice on the Folk Scene, Dies at 85

Nancy saw Judy perform in the late 60’s/early 70’s and pretty much forgot about her. I remembered a song – Salvation Army Song {link: YouTube}– I looked it up on YouTube, and brought it to Nancy on my iPad. As we watched it she laughed and cried as she remembered the song.
